Miami Beach VFW Post 3559 Join Forces with High School Students to Clean-Up Miami City Cemetery

Under the leadership of Miami Beach Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3559 Commander and Vietnam Veteran Larry Leitner, VFW warfighter members and Miami Beach Senior High School students will work side-by-side to clean-up the Miami City Cemetery, a historic landmark designation, where more than 300 military service members are buried.
They will clean and raise grave markers that have been neglected for years in hopes of restoring honor to their resting place.
May 4 is national “VFW Service Day” and students will receive community service hours for their efforts.
The clean-up is timely and opportunistic in consideration of Memorial Day on May 27th.
