Forest Resources Special Sites Training (FoRESST)

Professional foresters and logging company personnel frequently come into contact with cultural resources, or “special sites.”

The Forest Resources Special Sites Training is a one-day workshop that helps forestry professionals to identify historical and archaeological resources they are likely to encounter in the course of their work, including Native American sites, cemeteries, industrial sites, and sites submerged in rivers and streams. Information also includes what to do if a site is found; laws affecting sites on federal, state, and county lands; and how to proactively protect cultural sites.

Contact your local FPAN Regional Center if you have any questions or are interested setting up one of these workshops in your area.
