From September 15 to October 15 we are celebrating Latino/Latina/Latine/Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month! We join others in celebrating the history, heritage and contributions of those who identify as Hispanic, Latino, Latine, Latine or Latinx. This includes people who come from (or people who have ancestral ties to): Mexico, The Caribbean, South and Central America and Spain.Latine/Hispanic Heritage Month starts in the middle of the month, corresponding with the independence of many Latin American countries.
How can you celebrate this month:
- Pay attention and invest in local organizations advocating for Hispanic/Latine heritage rights.
- Consume Hispanic/Latine media this includes art, music, books, news, stories, podcasts, organizations, history and ARCHAEOLOGY!
- Show up for us. Listen to us. Celebrate us. Make us feel recognized.
