Arch. Month Lecture: Giuliano- "Legend of the Field Stones"

Description: University of West Florida's Tara Giuliano will present her interesting thesis research at Glades County Historical Society's Pieter Westergaard House (Moore Haven, FL).

Her presentation, entitled "Legend of the Field Stones in Old Bethel Cemetery: Using Archaeology to Explore Social Memory" details her search for the graves of Civil War Soldiers and how archaeology addresses the difference between legend and fact.

This lecture is FREE and OPEN to the public.

Clewiston Museum presents Palm Beach Co. Archaeologist Chris Davenport

Description: Admission is free, but call or email for reservations. Seating is limited.
The Clewiston Museum presents Palm Beach County Archaeologist Chris Davenport. His presentation, "The Belle Glade Culture- the Middle Man," will discuss some of his extensive research on early Native Americans that once inhabited the Lake Okeechobee region. Mr. Davenport was a key player in the recovery of Native American Artifacts from Lake Okeechobee during the 2005 drought.
