Archaeology in the Classroom Teacher WorkshopTime: 9:00 am til 12:00 pm Location: B. Calvin Jones Center for Archaeology at the Governor Martin House (1001 DeSoto Park Dr) Description: The Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) will be conducting a workshop to introduce educators to archaeology and explain how it can be used in the classroom and incorporated into the existing curriculum. This workshop will include lessons from Project Archaeology, which is endorsed by the National Council for the Social Studies. It will also highlight some lessons from Beyond Artifacts, FPAN’s collection of lesson plans which adhere to the Sunshine State Standards. Archaeology is a multidisciplinary science that relies on skills from all subjects, and thus teachers of all subject areas are welcome to attend! FPAN is hosting this event. View flyer |
