This race through historic, downtown Pensacola offers individuals or teams of two a chance to compete over a two-mile course for great prizes from local sponsors! Registration starts at 9:00am and the hunt begins at 10:00am! Each team will need a smart phone with data capabilities to participate. There is no set route or order in which challenges must be completed. Prizes will be awarded based on a team\'s completion time. All ages are welcome; participants under 16 must have a parent or adult guardian participate. A donation of $10.00 includes a reusable aluminum water bottle.

History Bike Tampa: Bringing Fort Brooke Alive!

Our friends from the Florida Public Archaeology Network - West Central Region are back to help us explore the site of Tampa\'s historic fort. Ride through the area that once was Fort Brooke! The ride will be at Kahwa Coffee (bottom of the Element Building) located in downtown Tampa, and registration starts at 9:30AM. We will depart *promptly* at 10am. The tour is provided free of charge, however there\'s a suggested donation of $5. The ride will last approximately 2 hours and will be traveling in light to moderate riding conditions. Please RSVP if you are planning on attending, and come ready to ride safe (helmet!!). FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE The ride will only be able to accomodate the first 80 registered riders. First come, first serve so show up early to sign in. No line holding, sorry!

Ever wonder what archaeologists do with all that stuff they dig up at archaeological sites once the fieldwork is finished? At the FPAN Volunteer Lab, you can come find out for yourself! Learn all about how artifacts and other archaeological material get processed in the laboratory so that we can use them to learn about the past. You will get the chance to sort through, identify, and wash artifacts and other material from real archaeological sites!  All ages are welcome to participate or observe, children 12 and under should be accompanied by an adult.

Re-Placing Fort Brooke Archaeology Day at the Tampa Bay History Center

Join archaeologists from FPAN at the Tampa Bay History Center for an event that celebrates the unique history and archaeology of Downtown Tampa. Hands-on activities and displays will be available for visitors of all ages to experience during this fun event. Historical re-enactors from different eras in Tampa’s past will also be on hand. The festivities are meant to celebrate a new exhibit: Re-Placing Fort Brooke. This exhibit located in the Tampa Bay History Center’s Touchton Map Gallery, uses cutting-edge technology to uncover the stories of Tampa’s earliest residents. Presented in partnership with FPAN, visitors to the exhibit will be able to see the fort and the evolution of downtown Tampa as never before. In addition to early maps of Tampa\'s Garrison District and artifacts recovered from the site in the 1970s and 1980s, the exhibit will feature digitally-rectified overlays of the original fort. Activities and displays in Cotanchobee Park, just outside the Tampa Bay History Center, are free and open to the public.
